2012 New York Fashion Week!!!

Today I had a great time hanging out at Lincoln Center Meeting models, photographers, and everyone who just wants to make a statement with clothing rather than words. It was as if a big happy family who's never met each other before, finally came together to celebrate the styles inspired from many parts of the world. I was stopped by quite a bit of photographers who asked to take a photo of my outfit...and yes, basking in this sea of fashion I simply said yes, smiled and posed.

Perhaps one of the best part of my day was that I was even asked to model a pair of "Natasha Morgan Shades" (LIKE O-M-GOSH); glasses that aren't even cut out for my budget. While soaking in my short term glory of being a street model, I failed to recognize that Kimora Lee Simmons was passing right behind me! o_O

Well Lucky for me I caught up with her a few minutes later and got a blurry yet clear enough photo of her. I also saw the fashionably, mature, potty-mouth, trash-talker, Joan Rivers and her daughter Melissa leaving the Mercedes Benz Fashion Show.

And also caught up with the various fashion styles of the NYC streets. There were styles from vintage to modern, and from masculine to feminine and feminine on masculine &...'u get the pnt.'

All in all I enjoyed my day. There are things that inspired me to continue growing my style and also some pieces that reminded me why it is important to have your own personal style (b/c not everything works on or for everyone).

How to Make a Dress Without Sewing!!!

Ever wanted to just take a lovely material such as maybe the sheet off your bed, or your silk curtain from your window and make it into a dress? Well if you answered yes to any part of this question you will be very interested in this video. This 1940's video was a challenge given to Alphonse Berge, also known as "The Great Drapo".

Color With Collars III: A Royal Splash

What does one think of when one see's Purple and Gold?     ROYALTY of course. These two colors are known all over the  world as the colors symbolizing royalty. Even Whoopi Goldberg and Victor Garber knew that they should put on their royal colors even if they were just "acting" as royalty in the movie Cinderella.
This collar is my last and most beloved collar that I've made so far. It is simply beautiful. From the purple satin fabric to the golden chains to the cute little pearl beading's; how much more royal can you get. The square shape in this collar is far from cliche and it makes a statement of its own. It's just pure elegance.

Another reason why I just love this collar is because of it's versatile ability, from it's original rectangular shape to a diamond "graduation piping". It allows the gold and pearl chains to give off a more draped look.

Color with Collars!!! (Part II)

Heeeeeyyy beauties in blogland!!! I'm back with more cute collars that were designed and made by yours truly. These too collars gives a completely different look to each outfit which I love.

This collar the "Lady Bug", has a t-shirt neckline with a wide circular ending. It is not your typical triangular collar. It gives the dress a younger and a fresher vibe.

The second collar, named "Traditional", is just your typical triangular collar that you find on button downed shirts. It's the 1st style you think of when you think of a collar. This collar makes a statement by its bright red material which gives any outfit a pop. Not to mention the cute embellishments which makes it far from boring.

So there you have it two cute collars to add some fun in a simple outfit.
